I joined the University of Bristol as Language Director for German in 2018 and in this role I am responsible for the German language teaching provision (Degree and University-Wide Language Programme (UWLP)) at the University of Bristol.

My academic journey includes positions at the University of Toronto and the University of Antwerp before moving to the UK in 2010.
I worked as DAAD Lektorin and later German language director at the University of Leeds. I held similar positions at the University of Bath and the University of Sheffield before taking up my current post at the University of Bristol.

I hold a Staatsexamen (German state examination, similar to a master's degree) in English and History from the University Halle/ Wittenberg, and an additional qualification in teaching German as a foreign language (DaF / DaZ).

My scholarship interests include language teaching and acquisition, computer-assisted language learning, assessment and feedback design, and language teacher training. I have presented my findings on these topics at various conferences.

I also run the OnSet test centre and offer regular test opportunities in time for DAAD summer course scholarships. If you wish to take the test outside these times, please get in touch.
